The AD375 Shaft Encoder is a rugged, reliable, low-powered device designed for accurate and reliable water level measurements in harsh environments. The built-in LCD display and function buttons allow all parameters, including water level, battery voltage and communication settings, to be easily viewed and changed without the need to connect an external device.

Water level values are output simultaneously via 4–20 mA and SDi-12, allowing for logger redundancy. The resolution can also be set to 375, 150, 100, or a custom number of pulses per revolution, depending on the application. Internal batteries (not supplied) ensure that water level readings are retained in the event of external power loss.

The encoder can be float operated or connected to mechanical sensors, chart recorders and weir gates, utilising drive gears or chain and sprocket assemblies.

  • High-resolution measurement 1 mm
  • Absolute water level
  • Parallel data output via 4-20 mA and SDI-12 (or RS232) to connect to up to two data loggers (redundancy)
  • Controls
    • LCD display and two buttons (OLED display for -40 °F operation available on request)
    • Display: measuring range, water level and battery voltage
    • Sensor configuration
  • Slippage reduction via beaded line and matching perforated disc
  • Robust construction
  • Battery backup

The AD375 Shaft Encoder is suitable for accurately measuring water levels in stilling wells in coastal and fresh water applications.

It can also be chain- or sprocket-driven for use in other position-critical applications.
